Assistant Controller - IGT leadership team

The Assistant Controller will support the Controller by overseeing accounting and reporting of plant metrics, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and preparing financial statements under supervision.

Responsibilities

Identify key levers to drive business improvement and provide leadership to ensure implementation of improvement opportunities
Partner with the leadership team to determine targeted goals for performance measures, including quality, productivity, delivery, inventory optimization, and profitability
Assist in daily reporting, monthly forecasting, and annual planning
Analyze data to support decision-making and to track performance against targets
Coordinate the capital appropriation request process and post-project reviews
Manage journal entries, invoicing, and account reconciliations for the monthly close
Help ensure completion of internal control requirements, including those related to Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
Comply with corporate and business unit financial reporting requirements
Support the development and maintenance of profitability and margin models
Drive inventory control and reduction initiatives
Partner with the Controller to lead the coordination of physical inventory count procedures
Prepare for and assist with internal and external audits

Required

Bachelor's degree in Business or a related Technical field, with a preferred concentration in Accounting or Finance
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility will be verified at the time of hire
Visa sponsorship is not available for this role
This position entails access to export‑controlled items; the applicant must meet all applicable requirements to lawfully obtain access to such items
Candidates must be fully open and willing to relocate to Coastal Virginia for this opportunity

Preferred

MBA a plus
Minimum of 5 years of finance or accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Advanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and oral form
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in teams
Experience querying and working with large data sets
Excellent analytical skills, including cost accounting experience
