Principal Reliability Engineer

The Principal Reliability Engineer will execute Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) program activities, conduct analyses, and support engineering disciplines throughout the product life cycle.

Responsibilities
Conducting RAM analyses, including reliability predictions and maintainability predictions
Performing Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA) and Fault Detection/Fault Isolation (FDFI) analyses
Generating Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs)/system models
Defining/allocating RAM requirements
Reviewing field failure data and assessing performance using calculations such as Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time Between Critical Failure (MTBCF) & Operational Availability (Ao)
Interpreting data and analyzing results
Ensuring performance compliance to requirements
Assisting in maintaining FMECAs and RBDs
Providing RAM inputs and support to program meetings such as Failure Review Boards (FRBs) and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs)
Working cross-functionally with Sustainment, Site, and other Life Cycle Engineering teams
Supporting the proposal process in developing Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for RAM work
Tracking Earned Value (EV) and providing accurate status on the schedule and budget for the RAM scope
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience
Experience in Reliability and/or Quality Engineering
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred
Experience with Reliability Engineering concepts including knowledge of reliability and maintainability predictions, FMECA/FDFI, RBDs, MTBF/MTBCF, and Ao
Electrical Engineering experience, Electrical Engineering degree/education preferred
Task leadership or project management experience, familiar with concepts such as Earned Value
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to present technical material to audiences
Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines
