Security Officer - Flex Data Center Patrol

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and notify appropriate internal contacts and/or public emergency services as required
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout offices, common areas, parking areas and perimeter routes. Working environments and conditions may vary by location
Control access to the facility by verifying identification, checking credentials, managing visitor registration and issuing temporary badges in accordance with site procedures
Monitor alarm panels, access control systems and video surveillance to identify irregular activity, then take appropriate action following post orders
Help to deter unauthorized entry and/or suspicious activity through high-visibility presence, professional engagement and consistent patrol patterns
Complete detailed incident reports, shift activity logs and other documentation with accurate times, actions taken and follow-up notifications
Support a technology-focused workplace by enforcing rules related to restricted areas, confidential workspaces and equipment rooms, and escalating concerns when policies are not being followed
Perform perimeter and interior checks of doors, gates and critical points, reporting maintenance concerns such as broken locks, lighting outages and other issues that could impact site operations
Communicate clearly with site management, employees and other Allied Universal team members to coordinate responses, share observations and maintain continuity across shifts

Required

Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only

Preferred

CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire
Customer service experience is preferred
Guard card and/or license is preferred
Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred
