Responsibilities
Monitor and collect financial billing information for submitting claims and submitting financial statements for private pay residents
Communicate with residents and their families regarding account balances due and billing inquiries
Monitor claim status, identify denials, and complete timely corrections and resubmissions
Reconcile resident accounts and investigate discrepancies
Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
Update financial spreadsheets to monitor correct pay source and cost reports
Ensure accuracy of payments posted to residents' accounts in hospital billing system
Work closely with admissions, nursing, social services, and business office staff to ensure billing accuracy
Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and private-pay requirements
Maintain detailed, confidential records of billing activity and family communications
Assist with audits and provide requested documentation
Perform other duties as requested
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
Intermediate proficiency with computers
Exceptional customer service skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Associate's degree or equivalent business experience
2+ years of related work experience
Experience with insurance billing
