Tax Credit Allocation Officer

Responsibilities

Reviewing 4% and 9% LIHTC applications
Conducting financial and underwriting analysis
Helping rank projects for selection
Collaborating with stakeholders on updates to the Qualified Allocation Plan
Performing subsidy layering reviews
Supporting pre and post construction compliance
Contributing to data reporting and program documentation
Serving as a key point of contact for developers, nonprofits, and partners across the Commonwealth
Providing strong customer service throughout the year

Required

Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, real estate, land use planning, or related field; or equivalent work experience
Knowledge of the Tax Credit program regulations, schedules and application information
A few years of professional experience performing a variety of work assignments associated with the allocation of tax credits with minimal supervision
Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret real estate documents
Skilled in presentations, stakeholder engagement, conflict resolution, and decision-making
Excellent written and verbal communication; highly organized and detail-oriented
Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Adobe Acrobat
Travel required within the State. Must maintain a valid driver's license and comply with Virginia Housing's motor vehicle and HR policies as a condition of employment

Preferred

Experience with LIHTC policies and procedures in Virginia
Understanding of IRC Section 42
