Executive Advisor for Strategic Initiatives
The New York City Department of Housing Preservation Development (HPD) promotes quality and affordability in the city's housing. The Executive Advisor for Strategic Initiatives serves as a senior leader responsible for developing and executing strategic priorities that advance the Department's mission, enhancing affordable housing and neighborhood strength.

Responsibilities
Lead the identification and implementation of strategic initiatives that enhance HPD's ability to preserve and create affordable housing, strengthen neighborhoods, and improve outcomes for New York City residents
Conducting research and analysis to inform policy development
Coordinating with division leaders to ensure initiative alignment with operational priorities
Managing high-priority projects from conception through implementation
Building and maintaining relationships with partner agencies, community-based organizations, elected officials, and other stakeholders to advance strategic goals
Represent HPD in interagency working groups and policy discussions
Prepare briefing materials and presentations for senior leadership and external audiences
Track initiative progress while adjusting strategies as needed to ensure success
Identifying opportunities for innovation in program design and service delivery
Analyzing emerging trends in housing policy and urban development
Mentoring staff involved in strategic projects
Qualification
Required
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college
Four years of satisfactory full-time experience in one or more of the following fields: real estate management, policy analysis, urban development, public relations, journalism, fund raising, advertising, public or business administration or a related field
At least eighteen months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, or executive capacity or supervising personnel performing duties in one or more of the fields described above
A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to the above
Preferred
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
Ten (10) years of satisfactory, full-time, executive-level housing and/or urban planning/policy experience
Professional experience in real estate development, real estate finance, housing policy, and/or community development
Ability to analyze and recommend policies and procedures with strategic foresight
Ability to propose innovative approaches to complex problems
Ability to present the agency's position in meetings with high level officials and other government and private entities
Demonstrated supervisory and management experience
