Team Lead- Insurance process
Coforge is seeking a Team Lead- Insurance process to oversee a team of Insurance Verification Specialists. The role involves mentoring team members, ensuring compliance with performance standards, and managing client relationships to optimize insurance verification processes.
Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and support a team of Insurance Verification Specialists, ensuring adherence to performance standards, quality guidelines, and productivity metrics
Monitor daily call queues, distributing workload effectively across assigned and non-assigned accounts
Provide real-time assistance to team members handling complex or escalated inbound calls regarding insurance letters, charges, and proof of coverage inquiries
Oversee the team’s work on lender relationships, ensuring timely follow-up with agencies, carriers, and customers to obtain accurate insurance information
Review team documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal and client requirements
Ensure timely verification of Break in Coverage (BIC) dates by coordinating with agents and validating supporting information
Maintain strict confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive customer insurance data
Work with Customer Service Coordinators to streamline workflows, provide support, and escalate systemic issues as needed
Identify opportunities to optimize processes, improve turnaround times, and reduce errors
Conduct refresher training sessions and knowledge-sharing meetings with the team
Maintain professional working relationships with internal departments, insurance agencies, carriers, and lender clients
Participate in client calls or meetings when needed to support operational updates or issue resolution
Assist leadership with reporting, performance analysis, and special projects
Ensure team meets and exceeds KPIs—maintaining a balanced focus on:
50% Customer Service Excellence
50% Goal Achievement & Deadlines
Conduct regular performance feedback sessions, coaching, and documentation as needed
Attend and contribute to departmental meetings and operational discussions
Support cross-functional teams during peak workload periods
Complete additional tasks or projects as assigned by management
Qualification
Required
Proven experience in insurance verification, customer service, or related call center operations
Strong communication skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and guide team members
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Proficiency in navigating insurance portals, websites, and verification systems
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
Preferred
Prior leadership, team lead, or senior specialist experience preferred
