Senior Principal Information Systems Security Engineer (Part-Time)

Responsibilities

Review, edit, and validate security guidance and requirements governing cross-domain solutions (CDSs) to ensure they are technically sound, internally consistent, and enforceable by system security assessment activities
Assess and refine official guidance language related to data filtering, content inspection, and file blocking requirements to clearly articulate expectations for malware prevention and data protection
Ensure security guidance accurately conveys core system security principles and control intent, enabling consistent and compliant implementation across CDS community development efforts
Provide insight into the establishment and updating of CDS development requirements, coordinating with cybersecurity, engineering, and compliance authorities to resolve ambiguity and maintain authoritative, developer-ready guidance

Required

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related discipline and 12 years of directly related experience or a Master's degree and 10 years of directly related experience, or a PhD and 8 years of directly related experience
Analyze user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications
Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities
Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies
Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, designs, and technology. Incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations
Develop technical documentation
Develop system architecture and system design documentation
Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans
Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts
Ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility
Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives
Minimum Clearance Required: TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
Clearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph

Preferred

Fourteen (14) years' experience as an ISSE on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity within the Federal Government is preferred
Technical Certification as a Certified System Engineering Professional (CSEP) from INCOSE or DAWIA SPRDE Level 2
