Robotics Engineer
SciTech Services, Inc. is seeking a Robotics Engineer to support the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command-Chemical Biological Center’s Product Design and Development Division. The role involves designing and developing intelligent systems and advanced automation technologies for unmanned/robotic platforms in CBRNE environments.

Responsibilities
Conceptualize and build robotic systems, including mechanical parts, electronics, and software
Create robotic mechanisms, components, and overall systems, often using CAD software
Develop prototypes for unmanned systems
Derive technical requirements from discussions with customers and multifunctional teams
Conduct modeling, simulation, and rigorous testing to optimize performance, reliability, and safety
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix issues in complex automated equipment
Design and develop unique solutions with little guidance
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Document processes and troubleshoot issues
Manage projects and tasks to include estimate costs, procure materials, develop plans, and conduct analysis
Operate programming controllers (PLCs, microcontrollers), modeling, simulation, and testing systems
Apply strong foundational principles in mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering
Work both independently with little guidance and closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, as well as technicians
Communicate and represent DEVCOM and the customer in a professional manner in front of all levels of U.S. Army personnel and Department of the Army Civilians
Qualification
Required
Candidate must be a U.S. citizen, eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance and pass a background check and drug screening
Secret clearance required
Engineer (Electrical, Electromechanical, or Mechatronics)
B.S. Engineering Degree, (or equivalent) minimum, within 3 months of hiring date
1 to 3 years of electronics, electromechanics or mechatronics experience
Demonstrated proficiency with robotics frameworks, programming (Python, C++), and control systems
Must have automated systems experience
Ability to thrive professionally in an ambiguous environment
Must be comfortable providing briefings and speaking to small groups of people
Able to travel CONUS and OCONUS
