Responsibilities
Sorts, codes & enters invoices daily, checking for approval and appropriate backup
Understands 3-way invoice match
Process weekly check runs on occasion
Act as one of the "go-to" people within the organization for Accounts Payable and Disbursements
Answer all vendor inquiries
Review statements for outstanding invoices
Interacts and works with vendors and field staff to resolve issues pertaining to returned checks and invoice issues
Supports the monthly closing of AP records and maintain AP files as well as year-end files
Research outstanding AP checks
Thorough understanding of the accrual and reconciliation processes
Understand and apply AP processes, policies, procedures, and internal control standards
Assist with special projects as requested
Provides support to Finance team including internal and external audit requests as well as other reports and tasks as requested. Responsible for completing all requests in a timely manner
Handles various other duties as delegated by management
Adaptable to learn new processes, concepts, and skills
Maintain and promote positive employee relations and morale whenever possible
Practice sound leadership and human relation principles to promote teamwork
Set a good personal example of attitude and performance
Qualification
Required
Ability to self-direct, work independently and be flexible in a fast paced, high volume work environment
General ledger experience
3-5 years Accounts Payable experience
Detail oriented, well organized, self-motivated, forward thinking with ability to multi-task
Ability to be an effect team member
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Positive attitude and ability to foster strong inter-departmental working relationships
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employee
