The Managed Services Systems Technician is responsible for executing software deployments, patching, configuration updates, and maintaining endpoint health across client locations.

Responsibilities
Software Deployment & Patch Management
Execute software updates, patches, hotfixes, and configuration changes using Canopy or other deployment platforms
Perform targeted deployments, verify success/health status, and follow up on failures
Automate recurring update tasks where possible through deployment policies or scripting
Remote Support & Remediation
Remotely connect to endpoints to perform file changes, configuration corrections, log collection, and system remediation tasks
Validate successful completion of corrective actions and document results
Task & Workflow Management
Work assigned tickets for deployments, patching, remediations, and validation tasks
Update ticket details, resolution notes, work logs, and status changes in accordance with Subway and Spencer standards
Quality, Documentation & Collaboration
Maintain clear, repeatable documentation for deployment steps, troubleshooting processes, and environment requirements
Collaborate with the internal and external teams on improving deployment workflows, tooling, and process automation
Ensure changes adhere to our client’s operational requirements and Spencer’s MSP practices
Tooling & Scripting Literacy
Read, interpret, and lightly modify scripts (primarily PowerShell) when required for deployments or remediation
Learn and adopt new tools quickly as Spencer expands its managed services footprint
Qualification
Required
Experience with endpoint management tools such as BigFix, Canopy, Intune, SCCM, Datto, N-able, or similar
Understanding of patching concepts, deployment logic, and remote troubleshooting
Ability to follow structured technical processes accurately and at scale
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Clear communication with peers, leadership, and external partners
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume MSP environment
Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline
Preferred
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or ITIL Foundation
