Selby Jennings is partnered with an Investment Bank specializing in Energy and Consumer Investment Banking. They are seeking an Investment Banking Associate to lead transaction execution, financial modeling, and client deliverables in a dynamic market environment.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day execution of live transactions, including M&A, debt financings, and equity offerings

Build and review detailed financial models: DCF, LBO, merger models, trading and transaction comps

Prepare client deliverables including pitch materials, management presentations, CIMs, board materials, and investor marketing documents

Conduct in-depth industry and company research across the Energy and Consumer sectors, including thematic analyses, competitive landscapes, and valuation benchmarking

Coordinate internal and external parties-senior bankers, clients, lawyers, accountants, and consultants-to drive transaction processes

Mentor and oversee Analysts, providing guidance on modeling, analytics, and work product quality

Support senior bankers with business development initiatives, idea generation, and client engagement

Required

3-5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or a related field

Strong financial modeling and valuation skills with the ability to independently build and audit complex models

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a polished, professional presentation style

Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines

Deep interest in both Energy (Oil & Gas, Energy Transition, Power & Renewables) and Consumer (CPG, Retail, Food & Beverage, Beauty, Consumer Services)

Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CFA, or other advanced credentials a plus

Team-oriented, proactive, and capable of thriving in a high-performance culture
