Business Development Manager

SoTalent is seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Territory Development Manager to accelerate sustainable growth across an assigned territory. The role focuses on building strong relationships with operators, local chains, and trade partners to win new customers and deepen existing relationships through a combination of digital and face-to-face engagement.

Responsibilities

Deliver territory targets across sales growth, customer reach, penetration, and digital engagement
Drive new business development while expanding share within existing operator and local chain accounts
Execute a structured, multi-touchpoint contact strategy using both virtual and face-to-face interactions
Use market intelligence and data insights to present solution-led, value-based sales proposals
Plan and manage customer activity using CRM tools to progress opportunities through the sales funnel
Conduct in-person and virtual product demonstrations, tastings, and ideation sessions to unlock new usage opportunities
Actively follow up on opportunities to secure orders and ensure monthly objectives are achieved
Work closely with distributor and trade partners to expand assortment, align priorities, and generate new leads
Build strong relationships with distributor sales teams to maximise joint customer coverage
Support the execution of promotions and seasonal initiatives and ensure timely administration of commercial claims

Required

A strong new‑business mindset, with a clear focus on demand creation and territory growth
Digitally confident, with experience using CRM systems and data tools to plan and prioritise activity
Commercially curious and entrepreneurial, with the ability to develop win‑win customer solutions
Passion for market, customer, and food‑related trends, with a desire to stay ahead of industry insights
Confident in solution‑based and premium brand selling conversations
Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
Bilingual capability (Mandarin) is required
Proven B2B sales experience, ideally within foodservice, ingredients, or related sectors
Culinary, chef‑led, or application‑based selling experience is highly valued
Established network of operator or hospitality contacts
Experience working with distributors, brokers, or trade partners
Hands‑on experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce or equivalent
Strong territorial or regional market knowledge

Preferred

Relevant education in food, hospitality, or business is an advantage
Experience working within a structured, multinational organization is beneficial
