Responsibilities
Develop and implement a university-wide entrepreneurship and innovation strategy aligned with institutional priorities
Promote an entrepreneurial mindset across academic, co-curricular, and operational units
Serve as the primary advocate for entrepreneurship within the university and with external stakeholders
Collaborate with academic leadership to integrate entrepreneurship, innovation, and applied learning into curricula and co-curricular programs
Partner with faculty and staff to design and deliver experiential learning opportunities that support student success and venture creation
Ensure programs align with workforce needs and regional economic priorities
Cultivate relationships with industry, startups, investors, and economic development organizations to support entrepreneurship initiatives
Serve as a liaison to regional and state innovation ecosystems, positioning Maryville as a hub for entrepreneurship and workforce innovation
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to secure resources and expand program impact
Identify and pursue funding opportunities through grants, sponsorships, and partnerships
Collaborate with advancement to secure philanthropic and corporate investment in entrepreneurship initiatives
Oversee budgets and ensure the financial sustainability of entrepreneurship programs
Oversee the operations of entrepreneurship centers, programs, and initiatives, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness
Establish and track metrics related to program participation, venture creation, funding raised, and regional impact
Prepare regular reports for senior leadership and external stakeholders
Foster an inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem that supports diverse learners and stakeholders
Promote a culture of experimentation, learning, and responsible risk-taking
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in entrepreneurship, innovation, or program development
Proven ability to build partnerships and secure funding for initiatives
Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
Experience managing programs and budgets
Bachelor's degree in business, entrepreneurship, or a related field required
Preferred
Advanced degree in business, entrepreneurship, or a related field
Experience in higher education or economic development
Familiarity with innovation ecosystems and venture creation processes
