Responsibilities
Provide leadership, direction and coaching to the Safety, Health and Environment team, working closely with Operations, Maintenance and other site functions
Act as the senior subject matter expert for occupational health, safety and environmental matters across manufacturing and laboratory environments
Develop, implement and continuously improve Safety, Health and Environment policies, procedures and programmes in line with regulatory and business requirements
Lead regulatory interactions, audits and inspections, acting as the primary interface with external agencies and customer representatives
Identify, evaluate and control chemical, physical and process-related hazards, ensuring effective risk mitigation across all sites
Oversee the development and delivery of Safety, Health and Environment training programmes, ensuring competence at all organisational levels
Provide strategic input to senior leadership, integrating Safety, Health and Environment priorities with operational and business planning
Qualification
Required
Extensive leadership experience within Safety, Health and Environment roles in regulated manufacturing, chemical or pharmaceutical settings
Strong working knowledge of local, state and federal health, safety and environmental regulations, including audit and inspection management
Demonstrated expertise in industrial hygiene, chemical safety and hazard control within operational environments
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams to deliver cultural and operational change
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to small and large groups
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant scientific, engineering or safety discipline
Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or willingness to obtain
