Associate Dean of Engineering

Responsibilities
Serve as the School’s chief administrative officer
Promote the institution’s engineering programs and enhance academic excellence
Work closely with the provost, dean of undergraduate studies, and other university leaders
Oversee programs in marine engineering, facilities engineering, and energy systems engineering
Supervise personnel evaluations for the engineering faculty and instructional specialists
Manage the screening and selection process for full-time and part-time faculty and staff
Manage the School of Engineering’s grant-related budgets
Work with industry leaders to develop partnerships that enhance student opportunities
Address engineering academic concerns
May serve as the dean of undergraduate studies in the dean’s absence
Qualification
Required
terminal degree in engineering, educational administration, or a related field
minimum of three years of academic leadership experience
excellent oral and written communication skills
ability to lead through influence and collaboration
Preferred
Ph.D
engineering master's or bachelor's degree for those with non-engineering terminal degrees
