2+ years expigus Inc. is seeking a Cost Accountant who will be responsible for analyzing, tracking, and reporting the financial impact of operational activities. This role involves maintaining cost records, performing variance analysis, and collaborating with various teams to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
Perform day-to-day general accounting duties, including preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and supporting month-end close activities
Maintain accurate financial records in alignment with company policies and GAAP standards
Assist with financial reporting and provide ad hoc accounting analysis as needed
Post and apply customer cash receipts accurately and in a timely manner
Generate and distribute customer invoices
Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on past-due balances to support healthy cash flow
Support collection activities, including customer outreach and issue resolution
Assist with sales tax calculations, filings, and reconciliations across multiple jurisdictions
Utilize Avalara or similar tax automation tools to ensure accurate tax reporting and exemption management
Collaborate with sales, operations, and customer service teams to resolve billing and payment issues
Identify and recommend process improvements to streamline and enhance accounting workflows
Provide general accounting support in a fast-paced environment as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2–5 years of experience in a general accounting or staff accountant role
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
Experience with accounts receivable, invoicing, and cash application
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs
Experience with sales tax compliance
Hands-on experience with Avalara
Experience in a multi-entity or multi-state environment
Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel
Flexible, team-oriented “utility player” mindset
Proactive problem-solver with a willingness to learn
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
