They are seeking a Full-Time Day Program Assistant to implement program activities and support young adults with mild intellectual disabilities in developing basic life skills and participating in community activities.

Responsibilities
Implementing program activities, daily lessons and support in the community
Monitoring for health and safety
Assisting with personal needs and personal goals
Teaching the special needs young adults basic life skills such as cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping and budgeting, laundry, personal grooming, and banking
Exploring vocational skills and job interests
Conducting community activities such as sports activities, visiting museums and the zoo, picnics, etc
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma/GED
First aid and CPR certification - Training Provided by Lifesteps within 6 months of hire
Current driver's license with the ability to travel for business utilizing personal vehicle
Ability to lift, push, pull, or move up to 200 pounds with Assistance
Preferred
One-year experience working with individuals in the human services field, such as Direct Care, Direct Support Professional, nurses aide, C.N.A., personal care assistant, etc
Associates or bachelor's degree (Special Education, Secondary Education, Sociology, Counseling, Psychology, Family Studies, etc. are related majors, but any major qualifies.)
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
