Vice President of Financial Planning Analysis
Storm4 is a specialist GreenTech recruitment firm, and they are seeking a VP of FP&A for a fast-growing renewable energy platform. The role involves leading the FP&A function, building investor-grade reporting and forecasting, and creating a financial foundation to scale the business.
Responsibilities
Lead the FP&A function end-to-end, owning forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting
Build a reliable monthly reporting package aligned to investor requirements
Create and maintain an updated liquidity forecast with strong cash visibility
Own company-wide and project-level budgets, driving accountability across the business
Deliver clear, actionable insights to senior leadership and investors, acting as a trusted partner
Rebuild/improve FP&A processes, reporting cadence, and financial rigor in a scaling environment
Support the build-out of the finance/FP&A team over time (initially working with outsourced/contract support)
Partner cross-functionally with operational and project teams to strengthen decision-making and execution
Qualification
Required
Proven FP&A leadership with the ability to build, own, and scale the function
Comfortable operating in ambiguity with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach
Strong executive presence and communication skills for investor-facing reporting and presentations
Preferred
Strong preference for candidates with investment banking background and/or startup/build-from-scratch experience
Renewables experience is a plus, particularly BESS (battery energy storage systems)
Exposure to project accounting / project finance is strongly preferred
CPA strong preferred
Ability to supervise accounting or bridge into a Controller-like function is a major plus
