[Summer 2026] Hookup Safety Engineer Intern
TSMC Arizona is a leader in semiconductor innovation, seeking a Hookup Safety Engineer Intern for their F21 FAB project. The intern will support the development and implementation of safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment, focusing on safety compliance and monitoring practices.

Responsibilities
Conduct safety inspections in cleanroom environments and other semiconductor workspaces
Enforcing compliance with all appliable rules, regulations and standards, OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ANSI requirements, as well as company safety policies and requirements
Perform hazard identification, safety inspections, training, and compliance monitoring during equipment installation and construction activities
Ensure industrial hygiene principles are upheld in day-to-day operations
Implement and enforce comprehensive safety protocols and compliance across all contractor and subcontractor activities on site
Conduct and implement job-specific safety plan, JSAs, risk assessments and reports to identify potential hazards
Perform regular site inspections and audits to identify and address unsafe conditions and practices
Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis
Utilize Microsoft Office and specialized safety management software for documentation and scheduling tasks
Support the development and implementation of safety training sessions for employees
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 1 years of safety-related experience
Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, ANSI standard, principles of industrial hygiene and construction safety practices
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software tools
Comfortable working in clean rooms and wearing specialized PPE when necessary
Strong communication and observation skills
Be willing to support international projects, which may include traveling overseas for extended periods (period depend on business need) to assist team efforts
Valid OSHA #30
Capable of lifting materials, working on ladders/lifts, and standing for long periods of time
Required to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. and to adjust heavy objects
Must be medically qualified to wear a personal respirator
Sensory demands include exposure to the smells associated with industrial chemical operations, exposure to the sounds associated with powered tools and industrial equipment
