Network Administrator Senior

Responsibilities
Manages the functionality and efficiency of computer networks (LAN/WAN). Monitors data traffic/network performance and controls network resource performance to ensure high-quality transmission. Troubleshoots and resolves problems
Collaborates directly with GDIT team leads and AF client on planning and procedures
Ability to operate under supervision
Execute day-to-day management and operations of systems and networks
Manage COTS & GOTS products to collect, display and remediate a variety of automated system security and system operations/performance functions and metrics
Follow Operations and Maintenance (O&M) checklists to maintain the service (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly O&M checklists); build Tactics, Techniques and Processes (TTPs) and Standard Operating Processes (SOPs) associated with service checklists
Operate monitoring tools/capabilities with the enterprise security information and event management (SIEM) and create/tailor complex event alarms/rules and summary reports
Assist in analyzing technical risk, upon request, of emerging cybersecurity tools and processes
Work as part of a security incident response team as needed
Maintains network to meet Enterprise Service Availability and Service Level Agreement requirements
Utilizes IT Service Management (ITSM) Principles to identify, categorize, prioritize, escalate, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents
Maintains network security and ensures compliance with security policies and procedures
Participates in the development and implementation of network-related procedures and standards
Interfaces with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance
Assists with the development of third-party monitoring actions and procedures for network infrastructure
Participates in network software upgrades, moderations tasks and installs
Works after-hours and weekends during maintenance windows on-site
Qualification
Required
Security Clearance Level: Active Secret
Certification: Current DoD 8570 IAT level II (CompTIA Security+ CE or similar)
Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
Experience: 3+ years of related experience
Technical Skills: Experience working directly with hardware vendors involved in the incident resolution process
Provides Tier II support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems
Supports the timely escalation and communication of status to external and internal customers
Experience with various software systems and architectures, communications protocols: and network hardware devices
Experience with STIG patching, compliance, and other security activities
NOC/SOC operations background – you've been in the trenches and know what works
Incident management expertise with a track record of managing complex, multi-team responses
Skills and Abilities: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multi-task while still ensuring high quality of work

Certification(s): ITIL V3/4 Foundation or higher
DOD 8140 (CASP+, CCNA Security, CCNP Security, CCSP, GCED, GCIA, GCLD, CISA, CISSP, GSLC), aka SecurityX
