Accounting Clerk
Acme Hospitality is a growing hospitality group in Santa Barbara's arts and entertainment district, that owns and operates several highly acclaimed and award-winning concepts and boutique hotels in Nevada County. This position supports payroll, benefits, and accounting functions by assisting with multi-location payroll processing, benefits administration, compliance support, journal entries, and reconciliations while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities
Assist with processing multi-location payroll accurately and timely
Maintain payroll records, employee files, and required documentation
Support compliance with California wage & hour, break, and tip reporting requirements
Assist with employee benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations
Respond to routine payroll and benefits questions; escalate as appropriate
Assist with payroll reporting and audits
Assist with preparing and posting journal entries
Assist with account reconciliations beyond payroll-related accounts
Support team with other accounting and finance-led projects
Assist with period closing tasks
Qualification
Required
Basic understanding of payroll processes or accounting concepts
Proficiency with Excel and comfort learning new systems
Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and willingness to learn
Preferred
Payroll and/or accounting experience or relevant coursework/degree in related field
Hospitality or multi-entity experience
