2026 Power Systems Engineering Undergrad Intern

Responsibilities
Provide Power Systems Engineering technical support
Apply academic technical skills to create satellite energy balance and / or launch vehicle energy depletion analysis models, while working under the guidance and support of industry experts
Work with experienced Power Systems Engineering staff to increase knowledge and understanding of major satellite subsystem elements that operate on the spacecraft and / or launch vehicle power bus
Utilize and/or develop system level modeling tools and resources that facilitate hardware performance characterization
Learn how satellites operate through launch and initialization
Gain an understanding of how other spacecraft subsystems and related focus areas like Thermal Control, Attitude Control, Flight Mechanics, and Communications work concurrently to generate data products for vehicle level assessments
Gain exposure to power electronics modeling, simulation, and testing in a laboratory environment
Write clear and concise reports that document your work
Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned as needed
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled full-time in a Bachelor's program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Completed coursework and/or fundamental knowledge of power systems
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

Possess organizational, time management and project management skills
Demonstrate flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational need
Interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations
Preferred
GPA of 3.5 or higher
