Responsibilities
Monitor patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) using various software to conduct cardiac device interrogations
Employ knowledge of cardiac electrophysiology to assess the technical function of CIEDs, analyze device diagnostics, and maintain accurate clinical documentation
Recognize abnormal functions of pacemakers, defibrillators, ILRs, and CRT devices
Assist Education specialist and Manager with other clinical aspects of the hospital-based device clinic
Facilitate optimal clinical effectiveness of implanted cardiac devices through the application of technical knowledge and skills to evaluate device function and device management in outpatient, procedural, and inpatient settings
Work in collaboration with electrophysiologists and cardiologists to ensure optimal device programming
Qualification
Required
Associates degree in a medical or health-related field with one year of cardiology or cardiac device experience
A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license will be considered in lieu of degree and work experience requirement
ACLS required within 6 months of hire
For Registered Nurses, required license must be valid in the state(s) of practice
Clinical Experience required
1 year of device or cardiology specific experience required
knowledge of cardiac electrophysiology
Preferred
IBHRE CCDS certification within 5 years of hire
Remote interrogation experience
recognizing abnormal functions of pacemakers, defibrillators, ILRs, and CRT devices
