SUPERVISORY FINANCIAL ECONOMIST

Responsibilities
Exercising the full range of supervisory and personnel management responsibilities pertinent to work performed by subordinate staff, assuring the fulfillment of quality work products to meet changing requirements and contingencies as they develop
Providing executive leadership and direction of a staff of economists that provide expert, analytical and evidentiary support to enforcement actions undertaken by the agency
Responsible for providing expert advice to the Commission regarding the economic implications of enforcement recommendations
Providing expert testimony on behalf of the SEC, in both administrative proceedings and in district court, and providing support with respect to economic issues in the context of securities litigation involving the Commission
Responsible for reviewing and guiding staff economic analyses in the context of enforcement matters to ensure that rigorous, reliable results are produced
Qualification

You MUST provide transcripts or other documentation to support your educational claims
Applicants must show successful completion of a full four-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in economics that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus
An appropriate combination of education and experience----courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education
In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must also meet the minimum qualification requirement
Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-14 level providing economic analysis relating to mission of the SEC
You must be a US Citizen

SUPERVISORY PROBATIONARY PERIOD: This appointment may require completion of a two-year probationary period

DIRECT DEPOSIT: All Federal employees are required to have Federal salary payments made by direct deposit to a financial institution of their choosing
