SUPERVISORY HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the integration and management of a team of Human Resources personnel
You will serve as a technical expert on human resources programs and policies, resolving difficult/unusual problems, and providing technical advice to employees lead as well as supervisors and managers of serviced organizations
You will serve as an advisor to commands, managers and senior staff, and provide guidance and assistance to supervisors and employees on all areas of human resources management regulations, policies and laws
You will monitor the status and progress of work, review completed work to ensure that regulatory guidance is adhered to, as well as to ensure that instructions on work priorities, methods, deadlines and quality have been met
You will monitor attendance and approve leave schedules
You will develop, manage and carry out long-range plans and specific projects to accomplish local labor relations

Required

Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program

Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing the delivery of human resources services; providing recruitment, position classification, compensation, labor relations, employee relations, oversight of automated personnel information systems, employee development AND ensuring compliance with governing laws/regulations and developing, interpreting/advising senior management on human resource policies/administration and providing input for the strategic planning of human capital resources for an organization
