Responsibilities
Transform customer RFQs into accurate labor and process estimates across CNC milling (3-axis/5-axis), turning, and secondary operations
Build initial routing trees and operation sequences in JobBOSS ERP during quoting to set production up for success
Refine routings post-PO award with Programming and Production, ensuring the plan matches the machining approach
Develop lightweight pre-production plans (setup concepts, tooling considerations, risk notes) for complex or high-risk parts
Ensure travelers and routing steps are practical, clear, and execution-ready
Partner with the Programming Manager, CNC Programmers, and Production Manager to define executable strategies
Communicate assumptions, risks, and critical characteristics to Quality Engineering and QC
Provide technical clarification during production as questions arise
Qualification
Required
5+ years hands-on CNC machining (mill and/or lathe required)
Deep understanding of setups, tooling, fixturing, and machining strategy
Proven track record estimating complex CNC parts in a prototype/job-shop environment
Sharp blueprint reading and GD&T; comfortable with tight tolerances (±.0001)
Ability to interpret complex drawings and CAD models
Experience machining aluminum, steels, stainless steels, and super alloys
Comfort collaborating across Programming, Production, and Quality in a rapid-turn setting
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Permanent U.S. resident required
