EPG is seeking a Power Systems Engineer for full-time employment, focusing on Engineering Testing of software applications, including its Synchrophasor based EMS platform.

Responsibilities
Design and develop engineering test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures based on software requirements
Execute tests to identify engineering algorithm inconsistencies
Investigate unexpected results to determine root cause and make engineering recommendations for improvement
Work closely with QA and Software Development members to discuss issues and ensure resolution in a timely manner based on root cause assessment and recommendations
Maintain engineering design documentation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical field
Proficiency in power system analysis including power flow simulations, contingency analysis, and event analysis. Relevant areas for this position include state estimation, linear state estimation, contingency analysis, cascading outages, EMS applications, and advanced data analytics
Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good communication and collaboration skills
Ability to multi-task
Onsite position based in Pasadena, California (remote candidates will not be considered)
Preferred
Prior experience with PSS/E, TARA Power GEM or equivalent tools preferred
Applicants with experience in EMS advanced applications, real-time operations support for transmission and distribution systems, and control room technology, including synchrophasor applications
Familiarity with Azure DevOps tools
