Director of Communications
Akumin® is a company that focuses on enterprise communications, supporting organizational priorities and transformation efforts. The Director of Communications will work closely with senior leaders to manage internal and external messaging, oversee social media, and ensure communications align with business goals.

Responsibilities
Execute day to day internal and external communications that support business operations and enterprise priorities
Own drafting and delivery of executive and senior leadership communications, serving as a trusted partner on tone, clarity, and message alignment
Lead corporate and leadership social media end to end, including content creation, approvals, publishing, governance, and performance management
Draft and manage press releases and public announcements tied to company news, initiatives, partnerships, and milestones
Deliver communications for enterprise initiatives and transformation efforts, ensuring complex topics are translated into clear, actionable messages
Support high visibility or sensitive communications, proactively identifying risks and ensuring thoughtful, coordinated messaging
Track performance across communication channels and provide insights and reporting to inform decisions and optimize execution
Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support organizational priorities, evolving business needs, and communications initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree with focus on Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or Equivalent experience
7 plus years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field
Demonstrated hands on experience executing internal and external communications in a mid to large organization
Proven ownership of executive and senior leadership communications, including drafting emails, announcements, talking points, and briefing materials
Direct experience managing corporate and leadership social media, including content creation, approvals, publishing, and performance tracking
Experience drafting and coordinating press releases and external announcements tied to company news, initiatives, and milestones
Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex or sensitive topics into clear, concise messaging
Experience supporting sensitive, high visibility, or risk related communications with discretion and sound judgment
Ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholders in a fast paced environment
Strong cross functional collaboration skills, including partnership with legal, HR, marketing, and operations
Preferred
Experience in healthcare, regulated industries, or similarly complex environments
Experience managing and optimizing social media across multiple platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook (Meta), Instagram, TikTok, and emerging channels
Familiarity with social media analytics, reporting tools, and performance optimization across platforms
Experience supporting enterprise initiatives, transformation projects, or organizational change
Experience advising leaders as a trusted communications partner, including guidance on executive presence and messaging
Exposure to brand governance, message alignment, and approval workflows
Experience preparing performance summaries or communication insights for leadership review
Ongoing professional development or certifications in communications, public relations, social media, or digital marketing a plus
