Responsibilities
Analyze and underwrite new and existing Floor Plan (Wholesale) and Commercial Retail credit applications
Render timely credit decisions in accordance with defined credit policies and service level agreements
Perform comprehensive analysis of business financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, collateral, industry trends, and guarantor strength
Evaluate business viability and structure appropriate financing solutions based on risk and profitability
Identify and assess credit, collateral, and structural risks
Document mitigation strategies and recommend policy exceptions when warranted
Ensure consistent application of risk standards across the portfolio
Assist leadership in developing, refining, and documenting credit policies and procedures for wholesale and commercial retail products
Support implementation of credit standards in preparation for program launch and growth
Partner with the Program Architect to define credit rules, parameters, and testing for the automated decisioning engine within the Loan Origination System
Support validation and refinement of automated credit decisions to ensure accuracy and consistency
Communicate credit decisions, rationale, and required stipulations clearly to Dealer Sales Representatives and the Dealer Support team
Provide guidance on complex credit scenarios and deal structures
Ensure all underwriting practices and loan documentation comply with applicable banking regulations, internal controls, and corporate governance standards
Support audit and review activities as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in Commercial Lending or Captive Finance underwriting, with specific experience in both Wholesale (Floor Plan) and Commercial Retail credit
Experience working with a Loan Origination System and automated decisioning tools
Deep familiarity with UCC filings, collateral perfection, and commercial lending documentation
Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex commercial financial statements and business structures
Expert-level knowledge of credit analysis, risk management, and commercial credit structuring
Proven ability to work accurately and efficiently under strict deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in articulating credit rationale
Proficiency reading and interpreting commercial legal documents, including security agreements and guarantees
Preferred
CPA, MBA, or advanced degree is a plus
Experience defining credit policy and supporting automated decisioning engines
