Responsibilities

Oversees team in preparing high dollar amount construction contracts and proper execution thereof (~700+ / $330M)
Oversee Contractual payment processing
Ensure payment tracking in Excel is done in accordance with management expectations
In all complex contracts, determine at which point to involve Risk Management and/or Legal
Acts as main liaison to facilitate dialogue with partners. Examples of such include mechanics liens that incorporate different state laws, insurance limits
Oversee non-contractual payment processing
Performs quarterly testing to determine if Sarbanes-Oxley Controls are working as designed, including facilitating and keeping the Department Narrative current. Doing so requires extensive knowledge of the business and coordination across different departments
Raises potential issues to management and makes recommendations based on past experiences to solve or develop processes to remediate
Coordinates with Corporate Compliance on complex matters such as redesigning controls
Reviews and approves Oracle Journal Entries and Webadi’s when accounting adjustments are made by team members
Provides direct training and on-going support for Contract Administrators
Trains and sets up General Contractors in Lucernex
Performs year end Accounting functions including processing and developing accruals
Assists and partners with Oracle and Finance teams with New Store set ups via Oracle and Fixed Asset Key creation
Assists Processing non-contractual and Special Project Invoices (~1,600) as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree in Business-related field or equivalent
Minimum 3-5 years of subcontracting and procurement experience in construction contracting
General knowledge of GAAP
Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office products
Working knowledge of Oracle
Attention to detail is critical
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with varied contractors
Works independently with minimal guidance/supervision

Preferred

Basic knowledge of general construction industry contracting practices
Experience in contract management and familiarity with legal terminology
Lucernex knowledge is a plus but not required
Engineering, and construction industry knowledge/experience
