Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day coordination of PIV and Passport activities, including programming, workshops, orientations, and academic success seminars
Serve as a primary point of contact for student inquiries, referrals, and follow-up
Support textbook voucher distribution, tutoring logistics, laptop processes, and other academic support services
Help monitor student progress and connect students to appropriate campus resources
Serve as the main operational contact for Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) and other regional partners
Coordinate communication, student referrals, advising schedules, and transition activities for pre-transfer and newly enrolled students
Assist with on-site or virtual advising, recruitment activities, and partner-hosted events
Support the development of new pipelines and student-facing supports that strengthen the PIV partnership footprint
Support the development of the STEM pipeline
Coordinate experiential learning opportunities for participants
Assist the Project Director with planning, scheduling, and executing project activities across academic and student-success units
Maintain calendars, timelines, and checklists to ensure all grant deliverables, reporting cycles, and compliance expectations are met
Coordinate Success Coaches, advisors, faculty mentors, and peer mentors participating in PIV/Passport initiatives
Oversee event logistics, communication materials, student reminders, and program documentation
Work with the Vice Provost of Academic Engagement, PIV Direct, Institutional Research, and campus partners to support data collection and tracking of retention, persistence, credit momentum, and completion
Assist with preparation of interim and annual SCHEV reports, dashboards, and internal updates
Document program processes and identify opportunities to strengthen policies, workflows, and communication pathways
Support the planning and delivery of training for faculty mentors, tutors, and advisors on inclusive teaching, mentoring, intrusive advising, and transfer-support practices
Help coordinate faculty and peer mentor participation in Passport and PIV programming
Support the Project Director’s work with Advancement and Sponsored Programs to identify future funding opportunities
Assist in developing processes, manuals, and sustainability strategies to continue successful activities beyond the grant period
Support with design, implementation, and continuous improvement of academic support and enrichment programming for Passport students
Assist and coordinate the work of Success Coaches, Academic Advisors, Community College Liaison, tutors, and administrative support staff
Ensure program strategies align with NSU’s mission, SCHEV expectations, and institutional student success priorities
Support NSU’s Barrier Review process as required by SCHEV, including identifying enrollment and retention barriers for Pell-eligible students
Convene faculty/staff working groups and student focus groups, analyze findings, and prepare annual IwBR reports
Track policy/practice changes and share lessons learned as “best practices.”
Collaborate with NSU’s Institutional Effectiveness and the FY26 Data Analyst to track retention, persistence, and completion outcomes
Produce interim and annual progress reports for SCHEV, NSU leadership, and the Board of Visitors
Use data to recommend adjustments and improvements to academic support strategies
Support director in building and maintain partnerships with Tidewater Community College and Northern Virginia Community College to enhance pre-transfer preparation
Work with NSU’s Advancement and Sponsored Programs offices to identify additional funding streams to sustain and expand the program
Develop a sustainability plan for academic support and enrichment activities beyond the grant period
Create partnerships for experiential learning

Required

Master's Degree
