Responsibilities
Architect detailed, AutoCAD-based control system drawings, including complex riser diagrams and precise wiring layouts, ensuring compliance with standards like ASHRAE and NEC
Develop and meticulously edit sequences of operation (SOO) for sophisticated HVAC and building automation systems, directly translating mechanical specifications into energy-efficient control logic
Coordinate and partner with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and project managers, to align design intent with successful field installation and implementation practices
Spearhead the selection and specification of essential components (sensors, controllers, network infrastructure) to support reliable and cost-effective design solutions
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, actively helping to standardize design templates and optimize our processes for greater team efficiency and client value
Qualification
Required
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls Engineering, or a closely related field
Demonstrated proficiency with 2+ years of hands-on experience in HVAC controls design, building automation, or smart building systems
Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating detailed control drawings
Fundamental knowledge of DDC systems (e.g., Tridium Niagara, Siemens, etc.) and protocols (BACnet, Modbus)
Ability to collaborate effectively with field personnel and project teams
Strong verbal and written communication to articulate complex concepts clearly to all stakeholders
