Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project is a part of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc., one of the largest human services providers in California. They are seeking a dependable and compassionate individual to join the Residential Team as a Resident Attendant, responsible for ensuring compliance with shelter rules, assisting residents, and overseeing volunteer activities.

Responsibilities

Ensures shelter residents comply with rules
Answers phones and watches front door
Observes and records significant activities
Provides general information and direction to the public
Assists residents with problems and questions
Oversees volunteer activities
Cleaning assignments such as sweeping, trash removal, and cleaning (kitchen, bathrooms, and resident rooms) in shelter
Prepares meals for residents
Displays sensitivity to the client population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
Performs related duties as required

Required

Completion of high school or the equivalent
Six to twelve months of related experience
Communicate effectively in written and oral form

Handle public contact and relations effectively
Plan short‐range activities
