The Medical Imaging Intern will perform limited radiographic procedures and related duties within the Radiology department, contributing to diagnostic imaging for pediatric care.

Qualification

Limited scope x-ray certificationBLS certificationHuman anatomyRadiologic Technology techniquesRadiation safety knowledgeWork under stressOperating radiographic equipmentEffective communication

Required

State of Minnesota limited scope x-ray operators exam based on the successful completion of chest, spine, extremity and skull/sinus modules and provide documentation of passing results
BLS is required (must be from an AHA sponsored program)
Students must be enrolled in a JRCERT accredited radiologic program
Knowledge of human anatomy and physics related to Radiologic Technology
Knowledge of basic techniques of Radiologic Technology
Knowledge of routines and procedures required to produce quality radiographs for basic procedures
Knowledge of safety techniques, including radiation safety, required during radiologic/medical imaging procedures
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of patients of all ages, cultures and physical conditions
Ability to work in stressful situations
Ability to operate general Radiographic and image processing equipment, and utilize medical imaging accessory devices
Completion of a competencies

Preferred

Current or recent participation in a clinical through Children's Minnesota preferred
Previous work experience preferred
