Maritime Systems Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Cherokee Preting is seeking a fully cleared Maritime Systems Engineering SME to support their Client in Northern Virginia. The role involves ensuring reliability objectives are met through various engineering analyses, participating in design teams, and interfacing with clients during major design reviews.

Responsibilities
Allocate and predict failure rates (Mean Time Between Failure) for components and systems and measure against program requirements
Develop Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD) to represent the relationship between components of a system and overall system reliability
Performs Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate risk of system failure and support proposed changes in design
Assess Fault Detection and Fault Isolation metrics for Availability impacts and concerns
Actively participate on design teams and provide guidance and recommendations to designers and management to ensure reliability objectives are met
Interface with the client and management at major design reviews to provide reliability findings and recommendations
Supervise testing and demonstrations at supplier, plant, or field locations to evaluate reliability factors, such as numbers and causes of unit failures or maintainability risks
Monitor failure data generated by product users to assess reliability performance in the field and develop strategies for product improvement
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must have at least a Bachelor's degree in a related field of study
Must have an active Top Secret/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph level clearance at time of application
Must have experience with the Client and their systems
Must have experience with cable writing
Must have experience providing Maritime Systems Engineering responsible for program support activities including finance and personnel management, governance, and training
Experience at developing program specific spending plans, which are constantly analyzed and refined using near real time proprietary financial databases
Able to serve as a liaison to other groups within the organization, identify and document leading practices of regulatory compliance making sure critical programmatic documents, workflow patterns, personnel information, and financial records are maintained for continuity purposes in accordance with existing SOPs
Must have good communication (written and oral) skills to perform briefings and complete required reports
Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
Preferred
Preferred to have twenty (20) or more years of relevant experience
Have experience performing the following: Training Agendas, Training Instruction, Leading Training Events, Travel Coordination and Reporting, Coordination with Students and Training Officials
