Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end project management for multiple GL conversion initiatives
Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, IT, and external vendors to ensure successful execution
Identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues, and ensure project milestones are met
Oversee data migration, validation, and reconciliation processes
Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards throughout the conversion
Provide regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders
Document lessons learned, create a “playbook” for future integrations and contribute to continuous improvement of conversion methodologies
Lead enterprise-wide financial accounting operations across the corporate entities, as well as various business segments
Ensure timely monthly close, quarterly and year-to-date reporting with detailed variance analysis and commentary
Review, update, improve and implement where needed, financial policies, internal controls, and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance in reporting
Partner with executive leadership to support strategic initiatives and financial planning
Lead and improve budgeting and forecasting process across the company
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Oversee any regulatory filings and compliance with ERISA, IRS, DOL, and other relevant agencies
Manage internal and external audits, ensuring readiness and responsiveness
Lead and mentor a high-performing accounting team across multiple locations and business units
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development
Drive automation and modernization of financial systems and reporting tools
Collaborate with FP&A, IT and HR teams to ensure integration of financial data across the Company
Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies
Ensure proper controls are in place for safeguarding assets and data integrity

Required

Minimum of 10–15 years plus of progressive accounting experience in financial systems or accounting transformation roles, including leadership roles in enterprise or multi-entity environments
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Project management experience/proven track record of managing general ledger conversion projects
Strong understanding of financial accounting systems (e.g., Business Central, SAGE, QuickBooks, Dynamics, SL, etc.), and experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
Solid grasp of accounting principles and processes, including month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations
Deep understanding of retirement and benefits industry regulations and financial structures
Expertise in GAAP, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management and strategic thinking skills
Experience with onboarding new acquisitions
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

Master's or MBA
