Temporary Electrical Engineer (3.26)
Golden State Water Company is one of the largest investor-owned water utilities in the United States, delivering quality water to over 1 million people. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for managing electrical design services for potable water facilities, coordinating with utilities, and providing engineering support to the company electricians.

Responsibilities
Performs and manages multiple electrical system designs and improvements for potable water plant projects
Prepares electrical design plans and specifications for new water facilities and improvements and replacements for existing water facilities
Coordinates internal and external resources (e.g., consultants) towards the completion of assigned electrical design projects while working closely with internal Asset Management departments to ensure project objectives are achieved
Prioritizes assigned design projects. Monitors and reports on design project schedules and budgets and implements corrective actions when needed
Determines size for electrical services and backup power generators
Prepares, reviews, and designs motor control centers, telemetry panels, and SCADA Panels
Performs QA/QC on electrical design projects by other engineers and consultants
Reviews invoices submitted by electrical consultants for accuracy
Reviews shop drawing submittals and approves field changes during construction phase
Assists in representing Company in public settings with respect to projects
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
Two to five years of relevant experience in designing commercial electrical systems
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work independently to resolve cost, scheduling and resource allocation issues
Working knowledge of principles and practices of civil engineering design, project management and safe work practices
Ability to analyze and solve electrical engineering problems
Must be willing to travel, including overnight stays as required by project needs
Preferred
Previous experience working for a regional electric company and/or another water/wastewater utility with SCADA and system controls experience
EIT certificate
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 software and AutoCAD
