The State of Wisconsin's Labor & Industry Review Commission (LIRC) is seeking a Staff Attorney to assist in the review of employment law decisions. The role involves analyzing cases, making recommendations, and drafting decisions for the Commission, with a focus on providing fair and impartial legal review.

Responsibilities
Assist the three LIRC Commissioners in providing fair and impartial review of employment law decisions
Perform review of cases petitioned to the Commission for review
Provide analysis and verification of evidence
Make recommendations to the Commission
Draft decisions for consideration by the Commission
Represent the Commission in court in matters involving unemployment insurance
Qualification
Required
Graduated from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in the State of Wisconsin upon hire
Education or training in researching, analyzing, and interpreting law
Education or training in providing legal advice, counsel, and recommendations
Education or training in preparing legal documents or memoranda (e.g., pleadings, briefs, legal opinions, administrative rules, orders, etc.)
Preferred
Experience in drafting legal decisions involving findings of fact and conclusions of law
Experience in applying and interpreting Wisconsin law relating to unemployment insurance, worker's compensation, and/or equal opportunity (fair employment, public accommodations, etc.)
Experience in preparing documents for litigation (briefs, motions, answers) and providing legal representation
