Payroll & Human Resources Director
Fractal Education Group specializes in the acquisition and management of high-quality childcare centers, and they are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll & Human Resources Director to lead payroll operations and HR compliance. This strategic and hands-on role ensures accuracy, compliance, and exceptional employee support across the organization.
Responsibilities
Process and review bi-weekly payroll with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness
Partner with site-level teams to implement and maintain payroll processes using Paylocity
Resolve payroll inquiries and discrepancies promptly
Prepare payroll reports and maintain organized payroll records
Stay current on federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures
Conduct internal audits to identify and address compliance gaps
Support external audits and required government reporting
Oversee employee benefit programs, including health, dental, and retirement plans
Support employees with benefit enrollment, changes, and inquiries
Partner with benefit providers to ensure smooth administration and issue resolution
Conduct benefits orientation for new hires
Audit 401(k) and benefits deductions to ensure alignment with provider invoices
Maintain accurate HR records, including payroll reports, 941s, personnel files, and compliance documentation
Generate HR reports and analytics to support leadership decision-making
Prepare and file all required compliance reports
Lead talent screening and recruitment efforts
Serve as a trusted HR resource for employee inquiries related to policies, time off, and leave management
Promote a positive, compliant, and supportive workplace culture
Qualification
Required
Proven experience in payroll processing, HR compliance, and benefits administration
Strong working knowledge of Paylocity
Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
High level of discretion and confidentiality
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus
