Structural steel senior estimator
Confidential company is seeking a Structural Steel Senior Estimator to manage the estimation process for various construction projects. The role involves reviewing bid invitations and construction drawings, preparing quantity takeoffs, and developing detailed cost estimates while ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.

Responsibilities
Review bid invitations, construction drawings, and technical specifications to accurately define project scope and requirements
Prepare comprehensive quantity takeoffs for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and associated materials
Develop detailed cost estimates for base bids and change orders, ensuring accurate accounting and contract compliance
Interpret and adhere to bid instructions, contractual requirements, and detailed project specifications
Estimate all required labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted services to produce complete and competitive bids
Analyze historical cost data and current market conditions to ensure pricing accuracy and competitiveness
Monitor and verify project costs to ensure compliance with approved budgets and financial targets
Collaborate with the Senior Project Manager to review budget variances and obtain authorization for out-of-budget expenditures
Coordinate with internal departments and subcontractors to establish accurate schedules for materials procurement and work execution
Work closely with the Purchasing team to secure vendor and subcontractor pricing
Engage with key project stakeholders to confirm timelines and milestone requirements
Participate in pre-bid meetings, scope clarification sessions, and post-bid negotiations
Confer with Owners, Architects, Engineers, Contractors, Detailers, and plant and field personnel to validate the accuracy and completeness of construction documents
Review plans and proposals to ensure appropriate methodologies and procedures aligned with company objectives
Maintain thorough and accurate project documentation to safeguard company interests
Support initiatives aimed at strengthening relationships and enhancing the company’s reputation with General Contractors
Qualification
Required
