Responsibilities

Supervises and coordinates the activities of personnel engaged in research and experimental testing
Maintains lab operations
May investigate complaints regarding lab services, equipment, and/or capabilities
Manages the budgets and operations of two or more research laboratories
Assigns, checks, and monitors assignments of lab personnel
Oversees and participates in the creation of annual budgets
Identifies funding sources and applies for grants, as appropriate
Estimates personnel needs to obtain lab and research objectives
Conducts personnel evaluations, recommends hiring and terminations, and performs other management function
Operates with considerable latitude for unreviewed action
Reviews and evaluates the effectiveness of personnel
Ordering/purchasing, receiving packages, managing inventory and budgets
Overseeing regulatory compliance (e.g., animal protocols, standard procedures)
Maintaining records and equipment
Ensuring laboratory organization/cleanliness
Direct animal interaction (animal care, surgical assistance, behavioral training, and assisting with experiments)
Supervision and coordination of lab personnel (e.g., onboarding, safety training)

Required

Previous lab management and staff training experience is required
Bachelor's Degree with 7 years experience
Experience will be considered in lieu of education

Preferred

Previous experience working with marmosets, including behavioral training, handling, restraining, surgical procedures, anesthetic and analgesic procedures, and pre- and post-surgical care
Preferred qualifications include a degree in Laboratory Animal Science, Veterinary Technology, Neuroscience, or a related field
