Responsibilities

Testing parts, from components up through rocket stages, near Blue Origin’s LC-36 launch complex
Fabricate tooling, harnesses, and other equipment as needed
Proposing and implementing continuous improvements to all our operations
Test facility operation, maintenance, and construction
General trouble shooting of instrumentation, valves, leaks, etc
Reviewing, editing and following Test Procedures
Safe working practices:
Safely working with hazardous chemicals and high-pressure systems
Working understanding of standard operations safety practices
Demonstrate a strong bias for safety in operations
Planning and communicating assembly steps for complex mechanical installations
Providing design feedback on the test stand and test article(s)
Flexibility to support testing campaigns as required – this may mean shift work or extended hours based on testing needs
Working with engineers on design concepts/improvements and development tests

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
3+ years of hands-on experience in mission/flight operations, launch/test operations, aerospace/industrial systems, or a closely related operational environment
1+ year of frontline leadership (supervisor, lead, crew chief, or equivalent) directing technicians or operators
Experience performing work on complex or hazardous systems (e.g., cryogenic, pneumatic, hydraulic, high-pressure, high-voltage, propellants, or similar)
Ability to read and follow technical documentation (procedures, work instructions, drawings, schematics, manuals)
Proven ability to plan and prioritize daily work for a team while meeting safety, quality, and schedule commitments
Basic proficiency with digital tools (email, spreadsheets, maintenance/operations systems) and ability to learn new tools quickly
Willing and able to support non-standard hours (nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime), work in field/industrial environments (outdoors, PPE, heights/ladders, hazardous or restricted areas as required), and travel occasionally to other Blue Origin sites or test/launch locations

Preferred

A&P license, Associate's or Bachelor's degree in relevant technical field
Certification in and/or Knowledge of IPC standards for assembly and inspection
J-STD soldering certification, 610 PCB Assembly and 7711/7721 Rework
Ability to operate complex and precision machinery, including CNCs, 3D printers, harness construction, welding, orbital tube welding, tube bending, flaring, and composites
Working knowledge of propellants, hazardous and class division/groups, NEC, and UL 508a
Solid understanding of a variety of rocket propellants, including liquid hydrogen, liquid oxygen, liquid methane, and hypergols
Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, telescopic boom lifts
Experience working with rocket engines, rocket test facilities, or rocket launch operations
