Community Service FWS Intern

Responsibilities

Assist with program planning, coordination, and implementation for community outreach events or services
Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, scheduling, and preparing correspondence
Support client services, which may include answering phones, directing inquiries, or assisting with intake processes
Help with volunteer recruitment, training, and coordination
Conduct research or gather information pertinent to the organization's mission
Assist with marketing and communication efforts, including social media updates or newsletter creation
Participate in community events, workshops, or service projects as needed
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to organizational policies
Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Must be an undergraduate student awarded Federal Work-Study funds through FAFSA
Must meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress standards set by Dallas College
Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours (half-time) during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters
Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen
No outstanding institutional balances or registration blocks
Must have reliable transportation to off-campus worksites (if applicable)
Completion of required Dallas College professional development training

Preferred

Must be an enrolled student eligible for Federal Work-Study funding
Strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment
Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
Demonstrated interest in community service and the mission of the host organization
Ability to adapt to various tasks and learn new skills quickly
