RESPIRATORY CARE PRACTITIONER, DEPARTMENTS OF MENTAL HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES
The California Department of Developmental Services is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner at the Porterville Developmental Center. The role involves evaluating pulmonary dysfunction and providing respiratory care to clients with pulmonary disorders.

Responsibilities
Assist in the evaluation of pulmonary dysfunction in clients
Provide care and treatment for clients with pulmonary disorders by means of respiratory therapy, chest physical therapy, ventilatory assistance and other therapy and care according to accepted respiratory care procedure
Administer various types of prescribed respiratory treatments and respiratory care to patients according to accepted respiratory care procedures
Qualification
Required
Must hold and maintain a current California license for Respiratory Care Practitioner
Maintain current BLS (CPR) and ACLS certifications
Must possess and maintain sufficient strength (lift up to 50 pounds without assistance), agility, endurance and sensory ability to perform the duties contained in the duty statement
Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance
Must be able to participate in client containment, intervention or restraint
Must have the ability to work extended hours and various shifts
Must float to all work areas within the facility if called upon to do so
The position(s) require(s) a Drug Screening be passed prior to being hired
The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired
The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired
