Business Support Specialist I
The University of Missouri-Saint Louis is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Business Support Specialist I to provide essential general administrative and office support within the College of Arts & Sciences. The role involves performing a variety of business support duties, executing fiscal operations, and assisting with administrative tasks for multiple departments.

Responsibilities
Performs a variety of independent, specialized business support duties for the assigned department(s) or Center under guidance of the Senior Business Specialist
Successfully performs multiple administrative tasks simultaneously in an environment with frequent interruptions and deadlines
Executes, documents and reports on business and fiscal operations using established templates and procedures
Provides administrative support to the Senior Business Support Specialist; organizes and completes structured assignments according to priorities and deadlines
Recognizes and solves problems that occur, sometimes without supervisory approval
Works with various vendors, customers, internal or external constituencies to complete complex projects; essential in implementing UM Shared Service Center Initiative in their respective center
Assists with scheduling facilities, equipment and catering for events, meetings and programs
Assists with creation and maintenance of department websites, newsletters and other published items
Assist with Appearance agreements, & Vendor contracts
Bi-Weekly and monthly payroll and reconciliation
Financial Reviews
CONGOS Reports
One Card Purchases
Travel Arrangements
Reimbursements
Show-Me Shop Purchases
Collection of Syllabi and Office Hours
Mail packages and/or receive mail
Acts as an informal mentor to Office Support III staff within the Center, providing training and general instruction; Assists with training new Office Support III employees
May serve as coverage/backup for Office Assistant duties as needed
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
