Responsibilities

Design and analyze pressurized and flowing fluid systems from concept through production
Perform component selection for valves, fittings, and instrumentation
Create tube routing layouts for complex aerospace applications
Conduct pressure system safety reviews including hazard analysis and failure modes analysis
Perform trade studies and create technical drawings and specifications
Support integration, testing, and troubleshooting of fluid systems
Interface with manufacturing, quality, and other engineering disciplines
Ensure compliance with pressure vessel codes and industry standards
Mentor junior engineers

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
Level II: 2-5 years of relevant experience
Experience with design and analysis of pressurized and flowing fluid systems
Demonstrated experience with tube routing for complex systems
Experience with component selection for fluid system applications
Knowledge and application of pressure system safety principles including hazard analysis
Proficiency with CAD/PLM software (Creo/Windchill Preferred)

Preferred

Level III: 5-10 years; Level IV: 10+ years
Experience with cryogenic valve design, selection, and testing
Experience with cryogenic fluids design/operation (LO2, LH2, LN2)
Propulsion system design and integration experience
High-pressure gas system design (>3000 psi)
System modeling using tools Ansys Thermal Desktop (preferred), FluidFlow, AFT Fathom, or similar
Knowledge of industry standards relevant to pressurized and/or cryogenic systems. Preferred experience with standards related to Welding, Pressure safety and certification (BPVC or AIAA S080), NDT and Welding, among others
Aerospace Flight hardware qualification and certification experience
