Associate, Investment Banking - Real Estate - New York, NY

In this role, you will manage client relationships, oversee financial analyses, and coordinate capital markets transactions while collaborating with various product groups within the bank.

Responsibilities
Utilize industry experience to conduct critical financial analysis of companies and present findings in a concise and professional manner internally and externally to our clients
Evaluate and analyze the financial needs of corporate clients, including the development of financial models (DCF, LBO, NAV), pro-forma financial statements and comparable company analysis, etc. Provide key inputs for use in financial modeling. Oversee analyst and associate models
Execute Equity and Debt Capital Markets opportunities for real estate companies in conjunction with ECM and DCM groups. Perform required financial analysis and oversee due diligence process. Participate in drafting prospectuses and marketing presentations for transactions
Act as key execution person for buyside and sell-side M&A pitches and mandates and evaluation of potential client acquisitions. Advise clients in preparing data and presentations for sell side processes. Participate in all stages of transaction execution, from the pitch phase through to closing. Assist the with the generation of M&A ideas / opportunities
Coordinate with key partners across product groups on execution of pitches and mandates, including Corporate Banking, ECM, DCM, FX, Derivatives, etc
Play a key role in managing junior bankers with responsibility for their development, performance and work product. Oversees hiring at the junior level for the group
Develop client relationships, and cultivate new business opportunities including generation and evaluation of M&A opportunities and potential capital markets transactions
Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
Qualification
Required
Ideal candidate will possess a relevant bachelor's degree, and have an excellent academic and professional record
A minimum of 5 years of industry experience in Investment banking or Mergers & Acquisitions
SIE and Series 79 & 63 licenses
Strong quantitative skills focused on financial analysis, accounting and financial theory
Strong written and verbal communication skills
The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of work
Well-developed organizational skills in order to respond to shifting priorities on multiple projects
Strong presentation skills
A high level of attention to detail
The ability to excel under pressure amid demanding deadlines & to perform effectively in a team environment
A demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new situations
Preferred
MBA or CFA
Experience in real estate is preferred
