Responsibilities

Designing and building resource isolation and performance control for shared compute

Scheduler and control-plane design across large-scale clusters

Tail-latency reduction and variance control, not just averages

Cost-aware scheduling and utilisation optimisation informed by real workloads

Safe experimentation on production infrastructure (A/B testing, canaries, staged rollout)

Low-level systems work touching Linux primitives, containers, and orchestration layers

Close collaboration with quantitative researchers on compute-intensive workloads

Required

Experience designing and building infrastructure, not just operating it

Ability to reason about performance using quantitative and statistical thinking

Preferred
