Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain C/C++ applications for financial systems, focusing on performance, reliability, and scalability
Integrate with modern databases (SQL and No-SQL) to handle large-scale data processing and storage
Implement and optimize FIX protocol for electronic trading and order management
Develop scalable enterprise solutions using technologies like FastCGI for web interfaces and backend services
Work with messaging queues such as WebSphere MQ, Kafka, and similar systems for real-time data streaming and event-driven architectures
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing systems
Ensure code quality through best practices, including unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to security standards
Contribute to architectural decisions for high-availability financial platforms
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of professional experience in C/C++ development
Proven experience in the financial technology (fintech) industry, such as trading systems, banking software, or market data platforms
Strong familiarity with modern databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and No-SQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)
Hands-on experience with the FIX protocol for financial messaging
Expertise in building scalable enterprise solutions, including distributed systems and microservices
Proficiency with FastCGI for high-performance web applications
Experience with messaging technologies like WebSphere MQ, Kafka, or similar (e.g., RabbitMQ, Apache Pulsar)
Solid understanding of software development principles, including multithreading, memory management, and optimization in C/C++
Must have experience with multi-threaded applications, TCP/IP networking, sockets, etc
Experience with financial market data feeds from exchanges and data vendors
Should have experience with equities and derivatives markets
Must be adept at using Large Language Models (LLMs) to accelerate development. This is a core expectation for the role and will be a key part of the candidate assessment
Ability to work 100% onsite in Queens, New York
Preferred
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) for deploying fintech applications
Knowledge of additional protocols like RESTful APIs or gRPC
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins or GitLab
Background in low-latency systems or high-frequency trading environments
